Chris Watkins is accredited by the National Homes Energy Registration Scheme. This is one of several schemes approved by Government. His DEA membership number is NHER001268.

NHER has to maintain its standards, and so quality of service and compliance with their requirements are paramount.

In fact, Chris is now a "Site Auditor" for NHER, which involves accompanying other Assessors on their inspections, as a means of ensuring compliance.

An NHER accredited DEA has to comply with the following requirements as a minimum.

Inspection records have to be kept and they have to be methodical, legible and transcribed in such a way so as to be understood by another DEA or similar. (This is important if there is a query or dispute on a particular EPC.)
Health and Safety risks identified at the property must be clearly noted with sketch, photograph or other evidence.
The information necessary for calculating the energy efficiency of the property must be correctly identified.
NHER has a mandatory duty to conduct compliance checks on random reports, and this involves an annual Site Audit as well as these random desktop audits.
As well as the official NHER survey forms, the DEA is expected to submit additional site notes and photographs with each EPC. This is again for clarity and compliance checks.
Each DEA is responsible to have in place a set of terms of engagement together with a complaints procedure.
Police checks, credit checks, professional checks, etc. have been carried out on all NHER members for your complete security.
